The epochal advent of the son of God, happened over two millennia ago, is undoubtedly the grandest of all celebrations on planet Earth today, celebrated on a mass global scale. This is one occasion when humanity join hands thanking the Heavenly Father for His ultimate benevolence in sending His son, Jesus.
Unlike the world-wide celebrations, Prasanthi Nilayam celebrates the occasion in most solemn, unique style singing with men and women from different nations and races assemble under one roof singing Hallelujah, Praise The Lord!
With a mini united nations camping in Prasanthi for the occasion, today, when the D-day revisited yet again, Prasanthi woke up with a festive spirit reminiscing the nostalgic golden memoirs of many a Christmas celebrations in the past.
The programme for the morning began at 0630 hrs. with a group of 120 choristers from New Zealand taking the honours of singing Carols singing in praise of The Lord. Conducted by young and energetic Kolithi, the choir had 11 songs, in different languages. Some of the songs were Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, O Come All Ye Faithful, Joy to the World.
When the session continued again at 0830 hrs. there were an array of programmes, Band, Music and Songs with little Santas popping out in between throwing chocolates all over making merry.
Violin Band from the Higher Secondary played some soulful tunes before the Brass Band from the Institute took over playing some lilting tunes. Wishing one and all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year students from the Institute continued the session with We Wish You A Merry Christmas followed by an array of songs that included Shout To The North. River Of Love etc.The programme had interludes of commentary narrating the greater significance of Christmas, in the form of a conversation between a grandfather and grandson.
Little Santas popped up from nowhere with chocolate bags and balloons making merry all over distributing chocolates.
Bhajans continued for sometime and ended with Bhagawan singing Sathyam Jnaanam Anantham Brahma
Mangala Arathi was offered at 10:00 hrs.
