Dear Brothers & Sisters,
Om Sri Sai Ram!

With the Divine Grace and Blessings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, and on behalf of the United Kingdom Central Council & Sri Sathya Sai Charitable Trust (UK), I have great pleasure in inviting you and your family to attend the National Christmas Celebrations 2012.

The event is a wonderful opportunity for all of us to come together to pray joyfully and share the blessing of being in the radiance of His Light. It is also a fitting reminder to us of the coming of Christ and the Message of selfless sacrifice that His Life exemplified for humanity to follow.

This year’s special programme will be held on Sunday the 16th December at the prestigious venue of The Cheltenham Ladies College Hall in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. The festive programme will include the traditional Christmas Service, uplifting prayers and music, guest speakers, Christmas carols including the Nativity. An ideal forum to experience ‘Brotherhood of Man’!

Jesus once said ‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.’ – Matthew 22:36-40

In one of His discourses, our beloved Bhagawan reminded us of the spirit with which Christmas should be celebrated. “Christmas means the Mass that is held on the birthday of Christ. It is fundamentally a sacred religious rite. To deal with it as if it is a festival for drinking and dancing or even for recalling Jesus to memory is very wrong. The day must be spent in prayer; not merely this day, but cultivate the saadhana (spiritual discipline) of prayer as a normal way of life. Prayers for worldly ends do not reach God.” – Vidhyaagiri, 24-12-1980
