How could the Lord stay away from His devotees’ repeated calling? How could He not respond to their persistent yearning? How much longer could He stay away…? Mr Shivajirao Jadhav’s invitation was worded with care, and decorated with the colours of love. It reached the Divine hands and got acquiescence. On the occasion of the third anniversary of Bhagawan’s Hadshi visit, let’s recap those blissful days of Bhagawan’s Pune-Hadshi visit…
When word of this acceptance reached Pune, joy knew no bounds. Every heart beat faster, every cell reverberated with joyous expectancy!
Happiness seeped through the city’s soil. It seemed everyday as though the sun set quicker than usual so as to usher in the dawn of Oct 28 that everyone and everything was so impatiently waiting for.
Even the tarmac at the Pune airport tingled with excitement. It was as though each particle in the air there was whispering to the other and passing it on to the leaves, the trees, the flowers, the ground, the birds and the rays of the sun that the Lord’s arrival was imminent!
The Divine Chariot landed at around 9.40 am, and every heart skipped a beat. Everyone sighed with delight to see the aircraft slowly coming to a final halt at the parking bay. The Highlift, after having been dressed up with pretty floral curtains, a red carpet and sprigs of red and yellow carnations, aligned itself, waiting for the Lord’s charan sparsh. Swami’s chair was carefully wheeled through, and in that fraction of a second before He got into the highlift, He looked down at the devotees from the open space, and smiled a smile of unparalleled love…

As the Highlift slowly descended to ground level, and His chair touched the tarmac, tears of joyful welcome welled up in everyone’s eyes.
The CM of Maharashtra Ashok Chavan especially flew down to Pune to receive Bhagawan, and to acquire His blessings as it was also his birthday.
Bhagawan’s car was ready and waiting for Him to be seated, as though saying ‘Asseyez-vous, s’il vous plait’. It had been a while since Bhagawan had travelled in it as it had come all the way from Parthi to be the Lord’s special chariot for the Maharashtra visit.
In seconds, the convoy sped out of the airport, and travelled through the city’ lanes and by-lanes to Mr Jadhav’s home where a right royal traditional welcome awaited Him.
Thereafter, the convoy made its way to the outskirts of Pune through winding roads, a brilliant landscape and milling devotees towards Sri Sathya Sai Panduranga Kshetra.
If Pune was a blushing bride, then what was Hadshi? A bride in all her beauty and splendour, which she got just by thinking of her Lord…

Everyday the Lord blessed and enchanted the thousands gathered there for His darshan. Nor sun nor cloud could keep a single soul away from the blessed Kshetra. During the day, devotees sat four hours on end in the hot sun but they didn’t look upon it as difficulty, instead for them, it was a penance for this was no ordinary visit – It was a visit of the Creator Himself… It was a boon and blessing that the Avatar in His physical form had chosen to be amongst them and shower His choicest blessings!
Bhagawan was dressed in His simple, elegant orange robes, while His sons wore gleaming white shirts, kurtas and trousers, and His daughters were dressed in the most vibrant hues. Everyone had done their bit to welcome the Lord, their Father, to His home in Maharashtra.
There were bhajans by Swami’s students and devotees, and musical programmes by Kavita Krishnamurthy, Nitin Mukesh, Sapna Mukherjee and the Little Champs of Marathi Sa Re Ga Ma. They delighted one and all by their renditions, and touched the Lord’s heart by their humility and devotion.
Bhagawan gave a discourse on the second day, and again, He stressed on the importance of love being the basis for your interaction with humans and other living beings. Birds stopped singing and waited to hear His ever sweet voice. His message of Love All Serve All and Help Ever, Hurt Never echoed in every heart and reverberated throughout the Kshetra, as dusk slowly set in and cast its evening spell on the surrounding hills…

Flowers vied to make it the bouquets offered to Beloved Swami, the leaves rustled and fell from their trees hoping they would be tread on by His Divine Lotus Feet, and insects, snakes and animals remained calm and were thrilled to hear a reference made to them by the Lord Himself as He said in His discourse that snakes and scorpions bite only when they are threatened by man…
On Oct 31, when Bhagawan’s convoy wound its way downhill, out of the gates of Pandurangaa Kshetra towards the arms of waiting Mumbai, He blessed everyone – rustic villagers – who needed no seva dals to control them, so disciplined were they. There was only one message that rang out from every heart to His – ‘Come back soon, Mother Sai…We need You, we long for You, we await You…’

If there are memories to cherish, nothing can excel this, and there is a hope that these celebrations would not end here, but would continue in the lives of all by way of selfless service and sacrifice. For that is when, our lives become His message…

Oh! Hadshi…your Bhakti is indeed legendary…Leaving a trail to emulate, Upon the gilded pages of history…It did touch the Lord’s heart deeply, With His visit He deemed it fit to bless You supremely… writes Sri Jullie Chaudhuri reminiscing the golden moments of Bhagawan’s visit to Hadshi, three years ago on this day…
Sadiyon sey tha Aap hee ka intezaar,
Ek atal vishwas,
Ki bhakton ka pyaar,
Bachchon ke dil ki pukaaar,
Oh! Sai Maa,
Aap kabhi na karogey asweekar,
Aaogey, Aap Aaogey,
Barsaogey hum sab par,
Aseem anugrah ki dhaar,
Amit prem aor anokha pyaar…
Prakat kartey hai, Aap ke Kamal Charano mey,
Saprem Naman, Pranaam aor Abhaar…
Oh! Hadshi…your Bhakti is indeed legendary…
Leaving a trail to emulate,
Upon the gilded pages of history…
It did touch the Lord’s heart deeply,
With His visit He deemed it fit to bless You supremely…
She had waited ever so patiently,
Lost in thoughts of Sai Vitthala,
But the boon granted to the soil of Hadshi,
To all the beings,
As well as the earth of Pune city,
Saw its fulfilment at 0940 hrs, Wednesday, 28th October 2009…
At last the Lord did acquiesce and opine,
Countless destinies acquired a divine design,
When tremendous yearning did with immense grace align,
Words cannot express the elation,
Nor can anything else this supreme joy define…
The sight and touch of those precious Lotus Feet,
Remains brilliantly vivid and resplendently distinct,
In each heartbeat,
The intensity of feelings,
Of those truly blessed memories,
The sanctity of that sacrosanct span of time,
Of that extraordinary clime,
Nothing can defeat, deplete nor delete…
Consecrated forever as a Cosmic Feat…
Our Mother returned home that day,And to that benevolent Mother Sai we do pray,
Urge, request, beg, implore and entreat –
Oh! Come Mother…You are the One we adore,
From You we seek,
A joyful reunion…an exalted encore,
Even as we recall, reminisce, reflect, recollect and greet,
Those serenely sublime moments gone by,
Oh! Those utterly sylvan surroundings,
Where Mother Nature too did relax,
Fragrantly and blissfully sigh,
When the Sun, Moon and the Stars lingered on,
Not even a second did anyone want themselves to deny,
The fascinatingly marvelous Presence,
The all embracing aura,
The celestially charismatic company of Beloved Mother Sai…
Oh! Mother Sai we do pray,
Urge, request, beg, implore and entreat,
Little lambs are we,
Can’t You hear our cry and helpless bleat?
Kuch Yadein, Kuch Baatein, Mulakatey,
Maa, Teri Yaad Aati Hai…
Tumhara intezaar hai hamey…
Tum Aao Maa, Aao,
Tum Baar Baar Aao…
Phir sey kehna chahtey hain –
Maa, Aapka har waqt swagat hai…
It is Your love alone that draws us towards You magnetically,
Oh! So naturally,
Continuously we try to seek You out in all that we see…
Those pristine moments at Panduranga Kshetra, Hadshi,
Oh! So crystal clear are those memories…
Not a ripple nor a crease,
The soul does recapitulate, review, replay and release,
Peace…Peace..the acme of Peace…
Oh! Mother Sai…
Grant that this yearning…longing for You,
May ever increase and never cease…
Oh! When will that astounding grace upon us all rain…?
When will we get to welcome You again…?
Oh! Hadshi…your bhakti is indeed legendary,
With it we have no desire to vie,
But if we do emulate it and with it so comply,
Perhaps we will be blessed to receive furthermore,
The loving touch…the ultimate Presence of Beloved Mother Sai…

It has been three years since Bhagawan set His Feet on the Pune soil, blessing the Peshwa city and Hadshi, lighting up with joy, elation and spiritual bliss for three full days leaving everlasting memories. Today when Pune longingly reminisces and Hadshi silently yearns, for an encore of that Divine Bliss, Sri Jullie Chaudhuri relives the pages in her diary…
Yaad aati hai lamhe beetey huey,
Kuch baatein, kuch yadein, mulakatey,
Maa, Teri yaad aati hai,
Sai Maa, Teri yaad aati hai…
Wednesday, 28th October 2009,
Was and continues to be,
Pune’s moment in time,
A timeless moment that takes its place resplendently,
Now in its history,
For at 0940hrs on that blessed morn,
Darkness gave way to a bright new dawn,
As joy did enhance with every heartbeat,
The Lord blessed this region with,
The touch of His precious Lotus Feet…
Three years have gone by,
So much to remember, smile and sigh,
To rejoice and celebrate,
For remarkably blessed was Maharashtra state,
A boon and a blessing none can belie,
The Divine presence of beloved Mother Sai…
And so the memories are fresh not remote,
Let us relive the pages of a diary on which a pen wrote,
‘0940 hrs, Wednesday 28th Oct ‘09, Pune Airport,
A Mother was greeted with a most loving welcome,
All hearts beat loud and rapid as would a drum,
Tears of joy, of love and gratitude,
On Her charming form,
All eyes stayed glued…
Her children stared longingly at Her divine face,
Every cell soaking in this immense grace,
That flowed on and on,
For three enchanting days,
From dawn to dusk and dusk to dawn…
How does one feel when a Mother arrives,
Home after a long separation?
Can there be an end to the celebration?
Can words ever express how a child does feel?
All accumulated pain, Her one loving glance can heal,
Joyful tears flow as would a stream,
Basking in the Mother’s love,
Content is the child,
It’s no longer a dream… ‘
Well the moon was asked a question,
‘Do you remember those wonderful moments when,
You did receive darshan of the Lord at Hadshi?
‘Yes’, each moon beam did in unison joyfully reply,
For darshans often did slip deep into twilight,
And many a celestial being,
Came to witness this wondrous sight,
The rays of the Sun too said much the same,
And the hills, trees, fauna and flora,
A shower of blessings on all did rain,
And love overcame any kind of pain,
Memories eternal and true,
For the aged, the young, the burdened, and the infirm too,
Hope was revived and faith restored,
By the supreme benediction of our beloved Lord…
For the Pune visit, when the Lord had given consent,
Can it ever be expressed what it meant,
To a devotee from this region,
From this ‘not so big’ Peshwa city?
Joy, elation, delight and humility,
Enchantment, merry making and glee,
Pune was decorated as would a blushing bride,
For her yearning for the Lord she could no longer hide,
Birds sang even more sweet,
Flowers of a myriad hues desired to greet,
Rays of the sun expectantly shone soft yet bright,
The breeze lovingly touched all, whispering in great delight…
Well today, Pune longingly does reminisce,
Those hallowed days of bliss,
Hadshi silently does yearn,
Awaiting once again its turn,
As do all the devotees too,
And that certainly includes me and you,
For the touch of Mother Sai’s soft lotus feet,
For an encore, a repeat,
An invitation there is in every heart beat,
But to accept until the Lord does decide,
We must not pause to pray or recite,
That which pleases Him, Who is always in bliss,
A simple yet profound chant is this,
Effective, far reaching and true,
And deeply valuable too,
‘Samastha Lokaah Sukhino Bhavantu…’

Celebrating 57 years of its inception, the ‘holy temple of healing’ that was born out of the Divine Will of the Avatar Of the Age setting a unique model for free Medicare aiding suffering humanity, presented a unique Socio Fantasy Drama in Telugu entitled “Deho Devalayaha” on 21st October evening in Prasanthi Nilayam.
Precisely it was on 4th October 1956 that, this holy institution pressed into service by the Holy Divine Hands. Ever since, it has been a saga of selfless relentless service holding aloft Bhagawan’s most profound and simple maxim, Love All Serve All!
The Sri Sathya Sai General Hospital was Bhagawan’s first initiative in healthcare, whose inception has been tagged to Holy Mother Easwaramma’s most selfless desire to serve poor locals with essential medical service. As on date, the hospital infrastructure includes 94 beds, 2 operation theatres, 8 wards, 7 departments and has served over 4 million in the past over five decades of selfless service.
The presentation on the 21st evening turned out to be a befitting offering from an institution that had the unique privilege of being His first role model service project.
As the title suggests, the presentation echoes the message of unique importance of human body, projecting the same as a holy temple. Projecting the protagonist, Rajesh, a prototype personality of a modern day youth, who is into alluring life style, the drama brings in greater awareness about the importance of observing the body, by understanding vital health principles.
Human body, composed of five basic elements is verily a part of the Nature and when one observes his body carefully, he will realise that there is not a spiritual truth or health principle that the body does not teach.
As the presentation unfolds, various vital organs namely, eye, lung, heart, stomach etc., march into the scene, as fantasy characters, educating the young man of his follies, imparting the much-needed health and spiritual education.
Eye, the window of the mind complains of lack of purity in man that hampers its longevity. Claiming that it is the one, who enables man to see and enjoy the beauty of God’s creation, Eye educates the young man as to how TV, Cinema, Internet and Mobile spoil its life. Referring to the Computer Vision Syndrome, that affects man who works for over three hours in computer, it further talks of Tele Vision, reminding the audience as to how Bhagawan condemned it calling ‘Tele Visham.’
Coming next, Lung talks about ‘so ham’, the natural breathing mantra, claiming how, everyday, 21,600 times it reminds man of his own nature, urging him of the importance of observance of his breath. Talking of its own contented and holy nature, inhaling only needed quantity of oxygen while never retaining any carbon dioxide, the lung teaches man to take only that helps in his spiritual evolution while eschewing all that is immaterial. “Why should Bharat, the land of Vedas land up in such a pitiable situation?” laments the lung citing the demonic influence of tobacco and alcohol in modern man’s life.
View Flash Video: (Neevu Ieene from Himanta)
Claiming to be a Nitya Karma Yogi, Heart comes next on the scene singing its own nature, Pure Love, citing reference to Bhagawan’s Heart, That loves anything and everything with bounteous love of thousand mothers.
The malady of BP is caused by means of uncontrolled emotions, endless thinking and worrying about past, present and future and faulty food habits. A comic scene follows depicting some of the desired ‘avoidables’ in the form of salt, chilly powder, masala, alcohol, pain killer tablet etc.
Stomach that digests everything, that man stuffs in, most ungrudgingly, comes next pleading man to exercise moderation in diet asking him to eat satwic food to his heart’s content only at regular intervals, three times a day.
Bringing in the climax, in the final scene, Jeevatma arrives, echoing Bhagawan’s teaching Shareeramaadyam khalu dharma saadhanam, health is the greatest wealth for the body. With Jeevatma imploring one and all to understand the true purpose of the human body, other organs join exhorting examples from Bhagawan’s Own Life, explaining how His life stands as a Real Message, a glorious example for the entire humanity to follow.
Beautiful dance and song sequences entwined between the scenes served as add-ons, enhancing the luster, sending out most profound messages.
The thematic and innovative presentation by the young medicos and paramedics with active co-operation and enthusiastic participation from seniors is an ample testimony to unity in diversity the institution practices, carrying His Mission forward with a single motto “Love All Serve All.”
The presentation served as a ‘medical awareness guided tour’ bringing in healthcare awareness into the vast assembly of devotees present in the blessed evening. No doubt, the State President of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Andhra Pradesh had an instant comment watching the programme; calling it “fantastic,” he wished to carry the awareness to every nook and corner of the state.
Even as women staff members burst into singing paeans to Beloved Mother Sai, simultaneously beautiful videos of Bhagawan was shown on the huge LED screen with the same musical background score, bringing nostalgic memoirs of the ‘Love Of Beloved Mother Sai!’
